This one-off breakfast event is designed for teachers and education providers who have a remit to provide careers advice to their students, helping them to become ready for the world of work. This morning event will showcase the benefits of Lifeskills created with Barclays – a fully-funded employability initiative that offers employability-led workshops delivered in schools by locally-trained facilitators and Barclays volunteers. The programme is already being delivered in schools across the UK.
The sessions, delivered in classrooms by fully trained facilitators, are provided through Lifeskills created with Barclays. This fully-funded programme is aimed at schools and FE colleges in socially deprived areas, and have over 20% of pupils availing of Free School Meals (FSME).
If your school meets this criteria, we encourage you to come along to this short event. It will demonstrate how Lifeskills works, feature a panel feedback session with schools currently involved, and will allow teachers the opportunity to experience a selection of LifeSkills taster sessions on the day.
Business in the Community is the new charity partner delivering the Lifeskills sessions in Northern Ireland, and its team will support the delivery of three different sessions within classrooms across Northern Ireland. Over the next two years, the programme will help more than 21,000 students and hundreds of local teachers.
