Imagine a world where it was considered normal to live until 100 years old. Would this change your attitude towards work, both as an employer and an employee? Living to 100 may not yet be a reality for most of us, but we certainly are experiencing an ageing population: the number of adults in Northern Ireland aged 65 and over increased by 22% between 2003 and 2013, and the 2016-2021 Active Ageing Strategy states that “one of the great success stories of modern times is that we are living longer.”
Working in partnership with the Public Health Agency, our annual Healthy Working Lives conference will explore the vast topic of Age at Work, with the demographic changes that we are already experiencing presenting an array of challenges and opportunities to employers.
Through a combination of key note speakers, breakout sessions, interactive workshops and panel discussion, the conference will allow delegates to explore topics including health issues, managing multi-generational workforces, workforce planning and the end of retirement.
