Time: 10:00 - 16:00

Silver Surfers is a day for volunteers to help our senior citizens access the world of the internet. Why not take time out to share your skills with someone who has yet to experience this journey? Set up an email account, introduce them to Google – their experience will be down to you!

Business in the Community, in partnership with the NI Direct Digital Inclusion Unit of the Department of Finance and Personnel and Libraries NI, will be holding free IT taster sessions for the over 50s in a number of selected locations (see below).   The success of Silver Surfers’ Day would not be possible without our dedicated business volunteers – thanks to you this has been running for 11 years! We need you again to show people over 50 years of age the basics of:

  • how to use a computer
  • how to register for their free e-mail account
  • how to e-mail family abroad, book cheap flights, save time on shopping, find a computer course, bank safely and more

For volunteers, please click on the following link to access your training guide Digital Assist Training Guide 2015Final and your training presentation Spring_Online_Training_2015
