NI Business Charter on Literacy and Numeracy

Business in the Community has developed the NI Business Charter on Literacy and Numeracy, in partnership with the Confederation of British Industry, the Federation of Small Businesses, the Institute of Directors and the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce to challenge business to actively support the achievement of good literacy and numeracy for pupils across Northern Ireland.

The Charter supports the achievement of good literacy and numeracy skills in the knowledge that it benefits our economy, ensures the sustainability of the future workforce, improves life chances and employment opportunities of our children, and combats poverty.

To achieve our goal, we are encouraging Business in the Community members to pledge their support for the NI Business Charter on Literacy and Numeracy. By pledging your organisation’s support, you will become part of a group of like-minded companies committed to actively supporting the achievement of good literacy and numeracy throughout Northern Ireland’s schools. We will also recognise your commitment on our website.
