Diversity and Wellbeing Manager, Queen’s University, Belfast

Adèle has had a lengthy career in Human Resources over the past 31 years, working in banking for nearly a decade before moving to the public sector in 2000 where she held several managerial HR roles in NI Fire & Rescue becoming its specialist on equality, inclusion, legal and occupational health and wellbeing matters. In 2021 she joined the Education Authority as Equality & Diversity Manager, before moving in January 2023 to her current role at Queen’s University, Belfast.

With a specific interest in the dynamics between employee wellbeing and inclusion, Adèle has broad experience of developing workplace strategy, policy and support mechanisms across the inclusion and intersectionality spectrum and is a seasoned trainer. She has a keen interest in disability equality and reasonable adjustments; gender equality; and support for carers in the workplace. As a parent of an adult with special needs she is a former Chair of the Special Educational Needs Advice Centre and remains an active advocate in this area.

Outside of work her family, travel, yoga and her much-beloved Jack Russell Terrier keep her occupied.
