Hugh Nelson

Head of Community Wellbeing, Northern Health and Social Care Trust

Hugh Nelson is Head of Community Wellbeing for the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. His responsibilities cover a wide range of preventative and early intervention activities. This includes creating public health approaches to autism and arts, covers the health and wellbeing of 12,000 staff and requires working collaboratively to tackle social determinants of heath such as loneliness, rurality and poverty. Hugh works in strong and effective partnerships across the private, statutory, community and voluntary sectors. He is Trust lead for Community Planning and for the place based approach to mental health, building communities which place high value on good mental health.
