Construction Carbon Associate, Felix O’Hare & Co

Úna Barrett, Construction Carbon Associate, is working in collaboration with Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) on a two-year research project to investigate the carbon cost of construction in Northern Ireland and explore mitigation strategies across our sites.
Úna is a passionate environmentalist and recently represented Felix O’Hare & Co. at the KNIB inaugural Climate Change Makers Programme. Her development of a bespoke Carbon Literacy for Construction Industry Professionals training programme and her work to collaborate with and inspire the construction supply chain to take urgent climate action earned her the prestigious Young Change Maker of the Year award at the All-Ireland Sustainability Awards 2023.
An alumni of QUB, Úna holds an MSc in Urban Planning & Design and has conducted extensive research on waste management and the circular economy in Northern Ireland which she utilises in her current role with Felix O’Hare & Co. She has presented her findings in guest lectures for QUB’s MSc Construction Project Management and BSc Urban Planning students and will join a panel of experts to share knowledge and best practice with the industry at the university’s upcoming Sustainable Construction Conference.
