Calling all young eco-warriors! Responsible business network Business in the Community NI (BITC) is excited to launch the Climate-Cool Kids Art Contest, now open for entries for primary school pupils in Northern Ireland.
We’re asking pupils from P1 to P6 – to unleash their creativity and design and draw their ultimate climate action hero or heroine, whose mission it is to protect our planet and inspire others to join the cause.
The winning design will be used as the cover page for BITC’s Climate Action Pledge Report, which will be launched in November 2024. The Pledge challenges and supports Northern Ireland businesses to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 – our business superheroes of climate action! Winner will receive a £50 voucher for a garden centre and their school will receive a £100 voucher. The results will be announced in September 2024.*
Would the Climate Crusader have a cape? Does the Renewable Energy Ranger wear a mask? What equipment does a Green Avenger use to help him or her to defend the planet? It’s all up to our young designers. Choose from the superhero inspiration list below or create a brand-new climate action superhero name and start drawing or painting.
How to enter
Please scan and send your entries by 5:00 PM on Friday 25 June 2024 to the Business in the Community Environment team at environment@bitcni.org.uk or alternatively, post to: Climate-Cool Kids’ Art Contest, FAO Jordan Birt, Business in the Community NI, Bridge House 2 Paulett Avenue, Belfast BT5 4HD.
Please ask pupils to complete their design on a blank A4 page in landscape orientation.

*Please note, as results will be announced in the new academic year, we ask that this competition is limited to children up to P6 given that P7 students will have moved on to secondary education.
