David leads PwC’s Grant Management Centre of Excellence – the Government Services Delivery Centre, based in Belfast. He is a Partner in PwC’s International Development team and manages a number of large grant funds for the Department for International Development.
He also leads PwC’s team of public sector strategy consultants, including 100+ economists, policy specialists and analysts. For the past six years, David has been the lead Partner for PwC’s role as Fund Manager for the Girls’ Education Challenge on behalf of the Department for International Development (DFID).
Prior to this, David led much of PwC’s high-profile education research on areas including the role of school leadership, and the link between school buildings and pupil performance. David is responsible for PwC’s thought leadership on International Development issues, and he designs and delivers PwC’s annual International Development conference which includes strong representation from senior DFID officials.
Prior to joining PwC, David was an academic and his MPhil thesis (Oxford) focused specifically on the links between maternal education and child health outcomes in Kenya. He has published extensively on education policy in books, academic journals and policy reports. He is one of a small team of PwC Partners who are responsible for corporate sustainability. David is actively involved in two innovative charities that have a strong focus on girls’ education in developing countries, one in India and one in Kenya.
