What’s the challenge?
Help shape a greener future for Northern Ireland! Work in small teams to design a project that tackles an environmental issue linked to one or more of the Generation Green Schools units. You may focus on one theme or combine them in a way that makes sense for your idea.
- Climate
- Energy
- Waste
- Biodiversity
Your idea can improve your school or make a difference in your local community – big or small, we want to see your ideas!
Open to all schools in the Generation Green Schools Programme. Perfect for eco‑teams, class groups, or any students passionate about protecting the planet.
How it works
- Form a small group (3-5 people)
- Identify an environmental problem related to one or more of the topics
- Develop a practical solution and showcase this in a creative way (eg a video, a poster, a song)
- Submit your project idea by the deadline
- Shortlisted teams will pitch to a judging panel of industry experts who will choose our winners
- Projects will be judged on creativity, impact, practicality, and presentation
What’s in it for you?
- A top prize for the winning team, which will be shared with the whole class
- The opportunity to showcase your ideas to sustainability leaders
- Make a real impact on your school or community
- Build teamwork, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
