This area focuses on challenging and supporting employers to embrace an inclusive growth agenda by supporting employers to review and self-assess their workplace, recruitment practices and pre-employment outreach activities to ensure they are truly inclusive, providing opportunities for all, especially those facing multiple barriers to work.

This will include developing an Inclusive Employer Blueprint.  In Year one we will have a specific focus on youth to ensure that workplaces and recruitment approaches are youth friendly with our Future Proof campaign.

Creating youth friendly workplaces: Future Proof

COVID -19 has and will continue to impact young people in Northern Ireland more severely than many other groups. They are a critical part of our recovery as we build back responsibly, and we need to ensure we create accessible workplaces where they can thrive.

  • Do you want help to self-assess how youth-friendly your organisation is?
  • Do you want to participate in mystery shopper events? – have young people review advertisements, applications forms and recruitment processes and get constructive feedback on how you can remove barriers for young people and access more talent.
  • Are you interested in reverse mentoring? Chat to us about getting involved in an exciting pilot where young people will mentor older employers and vice versa.
