Northern Ireland Environmental Benchmarking Survey

The 2025 Survey is open until 26 June 2025

The NI Environmental Benchmarking Survey is a free, annual, online, environmental management self-disclosure exercise open to members and non-members of Business in the Community.

Taking part enables an organisation to publicly demonstrate its commitment to being environmentally responsible and transparent, and the process and results allow organisations to examine and reflect on their environmental performance to compare themselves to others and to drive improvements. On completion, all participants will be sent a Gap Analysis Report which helps with strategic planning, improving processes, and enhancing overall environmental performance.

Environment Minister opens annual Survey focused on building greener and more sustainable businesses

Andrew Muir MLA, Minister for the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) has launched the 27th annual NI Environmental Benchmarking Survey, for organisations in Northern Ireland assess their sustainability credentials.

Over 200 sustainability professionals from Northern Ireland’s most environmentally conscious organisations gathered at an event to announce the results of the annual NI Environmental Benchmarking Survey, and to learn more about climate-action trends from businesses who have signed the Climate Action Pledge.
