Head of Community Engagement
Brenda has returned to Northern Ireland after working in Scotland for 30 years in sustainability and climate change. In that time, she’s worked in the charity sector for a number of local authorities and ran her own business, working closely with a wide range of national agencies and multinational companies. She admits that embedding sustainability into her own business was one of the most valuable experiences in her career, giving her invaluable insight into the challenges that businesses and organisations face. As a Chartered Environmentalist, she has guided other professionals and organisations through sustainability accreditation, with active roles in Sustainable Scotland Network, the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment and the UK Co-operative Environmental Committee.
Brenda has moved to us from Crowdfunder UK where she helped businesses and community groups to use the ‘tech for good’ approach to fund projects to improve society. She has also provided enterprise support to businesses and has been actively involved a wide variety of community initiatives spanning health and social care to Covid-19 and climate change resilience.
As a recent returnee to Ireland, her plans are to find the best hills to walk, to explore every cycle route and to find the best traditional music sessions to play in.
