WHY PEOPLE AND PLANET TRUMP PROFIT. It’s no longer enough to believe that ‘the business of business is business’.
06 Mar 2019
10:00 - 11:30
Business in the Community, BEAM Centre, Invista House, Maydown, Londonderry, BT47 6TH
It’s no longer enough to believe that ‘the business of business is business’. Companies with that single bottom-line focus are setting themselves up for failure as their approach will be short-term, short-sighted and they’ll be short-changing employees and customers alike.
Creating ‘shared value’ is a concept that builds on the ideas of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability to put finding solutions to societal issues at the heart of business.
Two of the biggest issues we face in the 21st century are mental ill-health and the negative impacts on the environment of how we live and work. That’s why companies that take these issues to heart in how they run their business, will create value for themselves and their stakeholders and they’ll do better in the long run.
Business in the Community works with employers across Northern Ireland to help them understand and address their responsibilities towards their People, the Planet and the Places where they operate. At this seminar, you’ll hear why that approach works to create better business and a better society, and how the two are inextricably linked.
With tangible examples of successful companies who embrace responsible business practices in their organisation’s ethos, you’ll leave inspired and enthused to change your approach.
