Supported by JP Corry and run in association with media partner Ulster Business, the awards recognise and celebrate those companies who have shown a sustained commitment to corporate responsibility with a positive impact on their people, our planet and the places where they operate. By recognising and rewarding such commitment, we aim to inspire others and deepen the culture of corporate responsibility which has been steadily growing in Northern Ireland in recent years. Corporate responsibility can be a key differentiator for all organisations, especially in the current climate. We want to celebrate your success and help spread much-needed good news.
At our dinner, we will celebrate with a range of organisations – those that have entered our national Responsible Business Awards – the UK’s most respected endorsement of responsible business practice—those that have entered our Responsible Business Award in Northern Ireland and those working in partnership with us who simply deserve our thanks.
Linda Cruse: Pioneer, entrepreneur and magician, Linda has worked alongside some of the world’s most influential figures – including The Dalai Lama, HRH The Prince of Wales, and Sir Richard Branson, and with companies and foundations including GlaxoSmithKline, Nestlé, Cadbury, KPMG, Merrill Lynch, UNHCR, Virgin Unite and the World Bank – to help find solutions to some of the world’s most critical social and environmental problems.
Linda’s journey has not been short of adventure and misadventure. She has lost a few of her nine lives on the way including escape from a rebel army, wrongfully arrested, evaded rape, held at gunpoint and survived severe altitude sickness and hypothermia. Linda regularly lives with little or no access to clean running water, reliable electricity, dependable food supplies, a comfy bed, a hot shower or safe shelter – things most people take for granted.
Linda inspires businesses and audiences alike by sharing experiences and insights from a life on the frontline. Coming to Northern Ireland between her work in Australia and her daughter’s wedding, we are very fortunate that timing is on our side and we can hear from this very special lady. Whichever grouping you fall into, we hope you can join us to celebrate on 30 May 2018. By taking a table, you will have an opportunity to inspire your staff, and perhaps your community partners, so they too can see the breadth of responsible business activity happening across Northern Ireland.
