This session will look at the intake of sugar in our diets and how to manage it. Eating too much sugar can result in consuming too many calories, which can lead to weight gain. Being overweight increases your risk of health problems such as heart disease, some cancers and Type 2 Diabetes.
Nutritional therapist, Kate Staunton will provide guidance on how to develop a healthy lifestyle based around healthy everyday foods. She will explore healthy eating, weight loss, give advice on how to manage low energy levels, sugar cravings and more.
Kate has a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy, an Advanced Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and a Degree in Psychological Trauma Studies. She specialises in Type 2 Diabetes and sugar cravings and has a deep understanding the physical and psychological challenges of managing diet.
This session will explore the following:
- Signs that your diet is high in sugar
- What is too much sugar
- How to identify sugar in certain foods
- Changes to food that help reduce sugar
- Supplement treatment
- Lifestyle changes and how to manage them
