Acting on the climate crisis is still high on the agenda. Businesses are, now more than ever, expected to play their part to keep the planet liveable. But it can feel overwhelming and difficult to know where to start.
In the first webinar of this Spring inspirational series, Géraldine Noé, Head of Environment at Business in the Community NI will be joined by NI Water – a BITC Climate Champion- to understand how the organisation is playing a pivotal role in helping society to decarbonise through a number of “big, bold, positive ideas”, including building more renewables on its land. Damien O’Mullan, Head of Energy will share NI Water’s journey in helping to reduce its carbon footprint through the development of its large-scale solar site in County Antrim. This webinar series is part of the BITC Business Action on Climate campaign, aimed at challenging and supporting businesses to address the climate emergency. As part of the campaign BITC is asking businesses to sign the Climate Action Pledge, a public commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. To change everything we need everyone.
The webinar is suitable for anyone with environment or corporate responsibility aspects to their role, and senior staff members interested in learning more about how their organisation can take action to address to climate emergency. Members and non-members are welcome to attend.

Damien O’Mullan, Head of Energy, NI Water
Damien is the Head of Energy for NI Water and leads the team across a number of ongoing energy efficiency and renewables projects. Damien is a Civil Engineer with more than 10 years’ experience in the energy and renewables industry in Northern Ireland.
Marcella Reilly, RPS Group
Marcella is a Technical Director in RPS Belfast. She has over 20 years’ experience in civil engineering consultancy specialising in Project & Programme Management. She is a Chartered Civil Engineer, an ICE Accredited NEC Project Manager and a member of the Association for Project Management.
Marcella specialises in leading multi-disciplinary teams in infrastructure procurement and delivery, with particular expertise in the management of public sector capital works projects and programmes. She has been extensively involved in progressing projects through the full lifecycle from feasibility and design, through construction and commissioning to handover.
Marcella is currently responsible for the management of the RPS Professional Services to NI Water for delivery of the PC21 programme of capital works. She was Project Manager for the £7million Dunore Solar Farm, delivered as part of NI Water’s PC15 Renewable Energy Programme.
