Taking place during Environment Week, the new initiative will shine a spotlight on Northern Ireland’s beautiful and diverse natural environment and the organisations that manage and maintain it. A range of events will be taking place throughout Northern Ireland with activities to suit everyone, from beach cleans to restoring playgrounds.

Denise Cranston, Head of Community Programmes, Business in the Community explains: “In Northern Ireland, we have some of the most beautiful scenery in the world on our doorstep, and this new volunteering action day seeks to celebrate these local landscapes.”

“We are encouraging employees to roll up their sleeves for the day and make a difference in their local communities, whilst also getting a chance to explore all that Northern Ireland has to offer. Working in teams, volunteers will have the opportunity to use their skills, talent and experience for a good cause, and of course, have a bit of fun along the way!”

Bronagh Vallely, Financial Director at Out There Services, adds: “We are thrilled to support #LoveYourLandscape Day. At Out There Services, we are passionate about taking care of the environment, and in the process, giving back to the communities and spaces that we all share. We all have a part to play in protecting our local environments and #LoveYourLandscape Day is a fantastic opportunity to highlight this and give everyone an opportunity to do their bit for the environment. We know that the volunteers will work extremely hard, but also have a lot of fun on the day as well.”

Northern Ireland Environment Links (NIEL) has partnered on the initiative this year. Sean Kelly, Development Manager, NIEL explains: “NI Environment Week is all about raising the profile and value of our wonderful natural environment. We are particularly delighted therefore to get involved with Love your Landscape Day as it represents a great opportunity for local businesses and volunteers to make a positive impact on our environment with lots of fun activities to get involved in right across Northern Ireland. We would really encourage as many businesses as possible to get involved and make the most of our great outdoors!”
