Mad Muddy Mini And Marvellous
Mad, muddy and marvellous! McVities Jaffa Cakes Mud Madness is back and this year Action Cancer very excited to be the new official charity partner for the September 2016 Mini Mud Madness and Mud Madness events.
Northern Ireland’s original, muckiest and best ‘mud-run’ challenge, participants aged from six upwards can walk, jog or run the course through Foymore Lodge in Portadown. Register the kids for Mini Mud Madness on Saturday 24th September, or get your friends together for the full Mud Madness experience on Sunday 25th September.
Action Cancer Ambassador Lisa Hutchings said “We are thrilled Action Cancer is the official charity partner for this September’s Mud Madness weekend. My boys are really excited, especially Jack! He can’t wait to get muddy for such a good cause”.
Lisa’s breast cancer was detected in 2012. Following successful treatment, she is now cancer free, and doing well. Lisa says “Action Cancer’s breast screening service saved my life and has enabled me to be here for my family, in particular my young boys Tom and Jack. I am encouraging all families to sign up for Mud Madness today. Be mad, muddy and marvellous, take part in Mud Madness and you will be doing your bit to fight cancer and support women just like me”.
The first wave of Mini Mud Madness for young people aged 6-11 years will take place on Saturday over one lap of the course, and parents can assist younger children over the muddy obstacles. The second wave for 12-16 years old covers a 2 lap course approximately 2km in distance.
The main Mud Madness event – for ‘grown-ups’ who want to get muddy too – will take place on Sunday over a 2 lap/5km course with wet and muddy obstacles, natural and man-made that combine with the landscape to provide you with a fun and exhilarating challenge.
Online registration is now open at www.mud-madness.com and everyone who signs up will receive a Mud Madness t-shirt, McVities Jaffa Cakes goodies and timing chip on the day.
Action Cancer rely on the generosity of the Northern Ireland public to raise money. The charity receives no government funding and must raise over 4 million per year to operate its life saving services.
