Research by Business in the Community shows that the public believe business should play its part in the community, particularly through using the power of its brand and products to support charities and causes.
At the Henderson Group, this is something that we believe in and work towards – We are committed to encouraging our employees to use their skills to support their local community and we aim to lead the sector in raising money for charity. The Henderson Group is committed to giving back and the payroll giving scheme is just one way of doing this. There are currently 1,112 employees giving through the scheme – that’s an amazing 36% of all employees and this number continues to grow, with plans to promote the benefits of payroll giving to staff in early 2017 and further increase the number of employees donating. Every donation made through the Payroll Giving Scheme is double matched through by the Henderson Group meaning that the chosen charity will benefit even more and is something that the group is very proud of.
This dedication to giving back was recently recognised at the 2016 National Payroll Giving Excellence Awards which were held at St Martin in the Fields in London last month. Sam Davidson, Human Resources Director had nominated Laura Nolan, Human Resources Advisor and Payroll Giving champion without telling her. Laura then found out she was nominated as a surprise and was thrilled to be invited to the awards and won highly commended on the night in the Corporate Champion category.
