Wilson Nesbitt has become one of the latest law firms in Northern Ireland to sign the Climate Action Pledge.
The company has recently initiated a review of environmental and sustainability practices within the firm and started on a path to significantly reduce its carbon emissions.
What Wilson Nesbitt did
In July 2025, two members of Wilson Nesbitt’s team attended three Climate Action Programme training sessions and a mentoring session with BITC NI. The training and mentoring sessions were extremely helpful and, through the training and materials provided, the company has created an Environmental, Sustainability and Net-Zero plan. The plan sets how Wilson Nesbitt will identify, measure and reduce carbon emissions, setting defined targets and goals.
The mentoring session was also extremely helpful as attendees were able ask for specialist feedback on their plan and measurement methods.
Wilson Nesbitt has also signed up a further two members of its Sustainability Steering Group to the Climate Action Programme training sessions, taking place in October 2026.
Following the sessions, the company has now formalised its plan and set up a Sustainability Steering Group with team members from across the business, to drive forward the company’s initiatives.
The company has also signed the Climate Action Pledge, an initiative run by BITC NI that commits Wilson Nesbitt, along with others across Northern Ireland, to address the climate emergency and set ambitious targets for carbon reduction.
