Nature Conservation Adviser, National Trust

Melina joined National Trust as Nature Conservation Adviser in 2018 and leads on the People and Nature Thriving Strategy. She works with site teams across Northern Ireland to identify opportunities to restore nature, capture carbon and inspire people to care and take action! Melina champions the work of the Trust and works in partnership with volunteers, government and other ngos. She sits on the Steering Group of the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan and is a member of the Freshwater Taskforce.
Holding a BSc in Environmental Science and an MSc in Coastal Zone Management, she has a keen interest in all things nature and water! Prior to working in the Trust, Melina worked in the Natural Environment Division of the Northern Ireland Environment Agency and AECOM (formerly Bullen Consultants) where she worked with businesses on environmental audits and implementing ISO 14001.
Melina is married with 2 daughters and loves spending time in the outdoors walking their black labrador. She is happiest in the water – swimming or scuba diving and is a qualified Open Water diving instructor.
