Lana Moore, Head of Charity Delivery, Action Renewables

What subjects did you enjoy at school that supported your career path?
9 Standard Grades 1-4 5 Highers – Art, Graphic Communication, Music, English & Geography (I grew up in Scotland so our qualifications are different)
Did you study at university or higher education?
Yes
What course did you study?
BA Hons Sculpture
What does a typical day or week in your role look like?
No two days are the same for me. I could be completing a site visit for a potential Solar PV recipient, attending an event, taking part in a Board meeting, organising an event, writing a speech for an event, delivering presentations & analysing Solar PV data.
What part of your job do you find most interesting or exciting?
I enjoy every part of my role, but what excites me most is seeing the real impact our Solar PV projects have. Watching our clients achieve cost savings, reduce carbon and deliver wider benefits to their communities and organisations is especially rewarding.
What advice would you give to pupils who are interested in a career in sustainability?
Start building useful skills like Data & IT skills, communication skills and problem solving. Learn about Green skills and get involved with local environmental groups and join an eco club at school. Start tracking your own carbon footprint and learn how to reduce it.
