What does a typical day or week in your role look like?
Giving advice to businesses on how to minimise their impacts on the natural environment. Visiting different organisations to learn about their sustainability practices and seeing what they can do better. Providing organisations with training to raise awareness around climate change, biodiversity, and why these are relevant to business.
What part of your job do you find most interesting or exciting?
Seeing real-life positive impacts on nature and biodiversity.
What advice would you give to pupils who are interested in a career in sustainability?
You can keep your studies fairly broad if you aren’t sure what area of sustainability you would like to work in yet! Getting some volunteering experience in early is really great too – this builds relationships with organisations in the sustainability space.
