Future Networks Manager, SONI
Michael has over 17 years’ experience in the power industry, working primarily on transmission network planning. As Future Networks Manager he is responsible for the development of new reinforcements on the transmission system, and the design of new generation connections, as the electricity system transitions to support net zero emissions by 2050.
He has recently led SONI’s work on both Shaping Our Electricity Future and Tomorrow’s Energy Scenarios, which set out what changes are required to support the requirements of both the Energy Strategy and the Climate Change Act (NI).
Michael has a M.Eng. from QUB and a M.Sc. from Manchester University.
