Dr Lisa McIlvenna is passionate about responsible business. She leads Business in the Community’s membership team, engaging and supporting companies to make their business more sustainable. Lisa believes business is, and should be, a force for good and led on the creation of Business in the Community’s ground-breaking tool to help companies measure and benchmark their corporate social responsibility – CORE: The Standard for Responsible Business. In conjunction with directing the membership services team, Lisa provides leadership and support for Business in the Community’s operations in the North West of the province and its employability programmes.

Under her leadership, membership of Business in the Community is at its highest level in history, with company engagement in CSR being higher than ever. Lisa thrives on challenging and supporting businesses to be responsible and has advised hundreds of organisations on their CSR activity.

Lisa lectures regularly on CSR, having developed and delivered programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA level. She has delivered her academic research on local, national and global platforms, and has been awarded ‘best paper’ on several occasions. She holds a PhD in Corporate Social Responsibility from Queen’s University, Belfast.

In her spare time, Lisa is a trustee of Artemis Schools NI and mentors a number of upcoming CR managers. She teaches Irish traditional music and endeavours to cook and travel as much as possible!
