Danske Bank publishes 2019 Responsible Business Report

Danske Bank has today published its second Responsible Business Report, alongside its annual financial results.

The report provides a comprehensive picture of how the Bank embeds responsibility into its core business, how it contributes to society, its role as a responsible employer, how it ensures responsible customer relationships and how it manages its impact on the environment.

In 2019 Danske Bank won Business in the Community Northern Ireland’s Responsible Company of the Year award.  The Bank also picked up a number of industry awards in recognition of its commitment to diversity and inclusion, training and development, employee wellbeing and responsible digital innovation.

Kevin Kingston, Chief Executive and Chair of the Bank’s Responsible Business Board, said:

“Conducting our business in a responsible and sustainable way is fundamental to achieving our vision of becoming the best bank by making more possible for our customers, our colleagues, our partners and for society.

“Our financial performance is only part of the picture; we want to create value for both society and our business by addressing key societal issues such as mental health, financial literacy, fraud and cyber crime, and climate change.

“It’s also about commitment to leadership and advocacy, something I am passionate about.  Reporting on our responsible business targets, performance and achievements is an important part of that commitment.

“But we know we have more to do, and we are committed to continuous improvement.  We will listen, learn, measure and evolve in order to strengthen our positive impact on society and the environment.”
