Local employees encouraged to get ‘Out There’ and #LoveYourLandscape
Business in the Community calls on local businesses to support an exciting new environmental action day taking place throughout Northern Ireland on Thursday 12 October
Business in the Community, in partnership with Out There Services, is calling on business volunteers from across Northern Ireland to step outside the office on Thursday 12 October and take part in a new environmental action day.
The new initiative will put the spotlight on Northern Ireland’s beautiful and diverse natural environment and the organisations that manage and maintain it. A range of events will be taking place throughout Northern Ireland with activities to suit everyone, from beach cleans to restoring playgrounds.
Denise Cranston, Head of Community Programmes, Business in the Community explains: “In Northern Ireland, we have some of the most beautiful scenery in the world on our doorstep, and this new volunteering action day seeks to celebrate these local landscapes.”
“We are encouraging employees to roll up their sleeves for the day and make a difference in their local communities, whilst also getting a chance to explore all that Northern Ireland has to offer. Working in teams, volunteers will have the opportunity to use their skills, talent and experience for a good cause, and of course, have a bit of fun along the way!”
Bronagh Vallely, Financial Director at Out There Services, adds: “We are thrilled to support #LoveYourLandscape Day. At Out There Services, we are passionate about taking care of the environment, and in the process, giving back to the communities and spaces that we all share. We all have a part to play in protecting our local environments and #LoveYourLandscape Day is a fantastic opportunity to highlight this, and give everyone an opportunity to do their bit for the environment. We know that the volunteers will work extremely hard, but also have a lot of fun on the day as well.”
Volunteers will be sharing their ‘before and after’ photographs on the day, using the #LoveYourLandscape hashtag on Twitter, and a prize will be awarded to the team that has made the greatest impact.
The closing date for registration is Thursday 28 September. For a full list of #LoveYourLandscape events, visit www.bitcni.org.uk. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org, call (028) 9046 0606. Join the conversation online using the hashtag #LoveYourLandscape.
