Northern Ireland Riots – a statement
Kieran Harding, Managing Director of Business in the Community Northern Ireland
Kieran Harding, Managing Director of Business in the Community Northern Ireland, said:
“The world can change so quickly and the emotive scenes from the weekend have brought fear, distress, and much dismay to many people across Northern Ireland. The destruction of property, displays of racism and extreme disturbance have no place in our society.
“Northern Ireland has moved forward in its efforts for peace and stability in recent years. Business in the Community plays its role in promoting inclusion and ensuring everyone, regardless of religion, culture or skin colour can live and thrive. Racism and societal disruption goes against everything we stand for and we are more determined than ever to work closely with business and the community throughout Northern Ireland to become stronger together.
“We know that during times of uncertainty, business leaders can be an important voice for hope. We exist to support businesses to be responsible at all times, but even more so when times are challenging. Business in the Community stands together, united with those who have suffered or who are feeling vulnerable at this time. We will continue to use our voice and our networks to bring hope”.
