Broadcast Journalist Bespoke Communications
Sarah Travers is a freelance journalist, trainer and media coach, based in Northern Ireland. Sarah began her career with BBC Northern Ireland after completing a degree in broadcast journalism at the Nottingham-Trent University, first in BBC Radio Foyle before joining the Radio Ulster news bulletins team in 1997. Sarah’s perhaps best known for her role as anchor on BBC Newsline over a thirteen year period where she also fronted the weekly Family Focus slot, Lifeline, The Balmoral Show and Children In Need. Sarah presented ‘The Magazine’ programme on UTV for two years from 2013 and Made In Northern Ireland with Stephen Nolan. She also teaches tv and journalism at the Northern Regional College and writes for Local Women Magazine.
In the summer of 2015 she set up Bespoke Communications with her business partner Camilla Long and is passionate about her new role helping people tell their stories. Together they provide presentation skills and media training to organisations and individuals and are public speaking partners to TEDX NI.
Sarah has two children, lives in her hometown of Portstewart and is proud Ambassador for The Alzheimer’s Society.
