Talking openly about money is vitally important for our health, wealth and relationships. Money is emotional – it’s the roof over our head, the food on our table and the clothes that we wear.
The effect of COVID-19 has made it more important than ever to start conversations about money. Building money conversations into our everyday lives also helps us build financial wellbeing, providing confidence and resilience to face whatever the future throws at us. If we are not prepared, we can struggle to cope when an income shock happens, or a life event changes everything. For many of us, taking the step to start talking is the first challenge to overcome.
In Northern Ireland, 39% of adults don’t know what they needed to do to plan for retirement*, and almost half (49%) of working adults are financially struggling or finding it difficult to keep up with bills – having little provision for coping with income shocks*.
Fortunately, there are many ways to champion financial wellbeing in the workplace, without having to purchase resources or create additional policies. Statutory body, Money & Pension Service (MaPS), has a legal duty to bring about a Financial Wellbeing Strategy, can support your business with free resources, evidence, and insight, to help implement financial wellbeing strategy into your current health and wellbeing, mental health and HR policies.
This webinar will give attendees an overview of the following:
- The UK Strategy for financial wellbeing
- The role employers can play in supporting financial wellbeing in the workplace
- Strong relationship between financial wellbeing and mental health wellbeing
- Free resources and service support that can be added into your organisation’s HR, Mental Health and Health & Safety policies
How it works
This session will take place on Zoom. Attendees will be emailed a secure link to join following registration.
