Managing Menopause in the Workplace seminar
You are invited to join Business in the Community NI for a Managing Menopause in the Workplace seminar that aims to address the lack of awareness, information and conversation around this important subject.
06 Nov 2019
9:15 am - 11:00 am
BEAM Centre, Invista House, Maydown, Derry~Londonderry, BT47 6TH
A BBC survey found that 70% of women do not make their employer aware that they are experiencing symptoms of the menopause, despite 41% saying it affects their job.
Whilst policies to support staff exist in some organisations, workers over 50 years of age experiencing the menopause feel they suffer in silence due to lack of awareness, and are reluctant to ask for reasonable adjustments, such as sitting closer to a window or being able to take a short break outside.
