Axiom Law rallies to support local community groups
With 20,000 people classing themselves as homeless here in Northern Ireland, Axiom Law decided this was a worthwhile focus for its community activities. Through Business in the Community, Axiom Law forged a new friendship with the Welcome Organisation. A group of staff gave their time to volunteer and to help sort clothes and food donations at the organisation’s city centre drop in centre. To coincide with this activity, employees who couldn’t give of their time on the day organised a ‘donations-drive’ for the Welcome Organisation, giving a range of valuable items such as sleeping bags, hats, and winter-wear. The charity commented on the incredible generosity of Axiom employees and how the donation was thoroughly appreciated by staff and service users at the drop-in centre.
In line with this theme, the law firm also donated two large hampers of essential food items in the run up to Christmas to Bryson House along with £100 in donations towards Christmas Hampers. On top of this, staff also fundraised just under £100 for Barnardo’s through donations and by selling reindeer food. Their good will did not just end with donations and food collections however, the Axiom Choir managed to light up the Christmas spirit in their performance of Christmas Carols for residents of a local sheltered housing scheme in Donegall Pass.
After an incredibly productive and engaging four months of Business in the Community membership, Axiom Law and its employees are really looking forward to the activities planned for 2017 and the opportunities to support the local community.
