Ballybeen Women’s Centre and Ulster Bank work together to ‘Balance the Books’

Ballybeen Women’s Centre in East Belfast received funding from Ulster Bank in 2015 through the Skills and Opportunities Fund. The funding was used as part of the group’s Skills to Employment Project (StEP). This delivered community based skills training and educational qualifications to 100 local individuals and groups and gave them the confidence to be better equipped to apply for and gain employment.

In addition to the funding the local Ulster Bank Branch at King’s Road supported them further by delivering Money Management sessions. Helping customers manage their money and become more confident is an important part of supporting local communities. The first session covered basic budgeting and money management and also provided a forum for a question and answer session. Further sessions on Fraud Awareness have been planned for later this year.
