Businesses and job seekers come together for a new look jobs and careers exhibition
BUSINESS owners and job seekers in Fermanagh are set to come together at the end of next month for a new look annual jobs and careers exhibition which aims to highlight and encourage local employment opportunities.
Taking place at the Lakeland Forum on Thursday 28th September between 12 noon and 3:00 pm Fermanagh Works is being promoted by Fermanagh’s Business Leadership Network, supported by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, South West College and a number of leading local businesses including the Fermanah Herald, Balcas, Erneside and Donnelly Motor Group.
Upwards of 40 local businesses and agencies have exhibited at previous events and this year the promoters are confident that more business owners will use the event to highlight career opportunities in their organisations.
Jim Masterson, Chair of the Enniskillen Business Leadership Network encourages business owners and managers to attend the forthcoming event: “By adopting the new brand name of Fermanagh Works, we want to invite local businesses, regardless of their size and nature of work to take a stand at the September 28 exhibition to highlight the types of skills and careers required to succeed within their business.”
“There are many exciting enterprises throughout all parts of Fermanagh, in the towns and villages offering exciting and rewarding job opportunities” added Mr Masterson.
“We invite those businesses to attend the Jobs and Careers fair to promote themselves and the local talent they seek to help their businesses grow.
“Ideally we would like businesses to come along with a particular job opportunity which they can offer an aspiring job seeker, but if there are no permanent opportunities, we would also be delighted if a business could consider offering a temporary position even in a work experience capacity, or under an apprenticeship scheme.
“Their presence will also help forge a link when other job opportunities become available in the future. This is a great opportunity for the local business community to come together and literally make Fermanagh work,” concluded Mr Masterson.
The Fermanagh Works event is free to attend and is free for businesses to exhibit. The Jobs and Careers Fair is open to the general public between 12 noon and 3pm on Thursday 28 September 2017.
Public and private sector employers will be well represented, and a number of recruitment and training organisations will be on hand offering advice and guidance on current and future employment opportunities.
Spaces are limited however, so if businesses would like to exhibit, a stand can be booked by contacting event co-ordinator, Raymond McGinn, email, firstname.lastname@example.org, T: 028 8241 5053. Alternatively, you can book a stand online at bitcni.org.uk/event/fermanaghworks
