Help make a difference this Christmas – volunteer!

Businesses large and small from across Northern Ireland are being asked to join forces and get involved with the 2018 Cares @ Christmas appeal.

There are three easy ways to get involved:

  1. Buy a gift – Cash for Kids Mission Christmas need donations of new and unwrapped gifts suitable for 0-18 year olds.
  2. Sort a gift – All donated gifts will be collected by the Henderson Group and sent to the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas warehouse where we need volunteers to help sort and distribute gifts.
  3. Wrap a gift – gift wrapping opportunities are available at Ards Shopping Centre in support of CLIC Sargent

Every gift or action counts!

Business in the Community’s Volunteering Manager, Hilary Hanberry explains: “Last year, the generosity of employees from our companies provided over £30,000 worth of toys for disadvantaged young people. We are delighted that this year the Cares @ Christmas campaign is expanding to support more organisations and initiatives and give people the opportunity to contribute in different ways.”

Sam Davidson, Human Resources Director for SPAR explains why, saying: “The Cares @ Christmas campaign is a highlight for everyone at SPAR each year. Our employees love it and we encourage our staff to participate. We also ask as many businesses as possible to get involved in this simple, but very worthwhile campaign. Donating games, sportswear, pamper packs, gadgets, fashion accessories or puzzles can make all the difference to a child or family who may otherwise go without this year. Come and join in.”

Darren Fowler, Regional Manager for Cash for Kids, adds: “Cash for Kids is delighted to be the recipient of the Cares @ Christmas Appeal again this year. Gifts donated to the Mission Christmas campaign will be shared to a wide range of children’s charities across Northern Ireland, ensuring we reach those most in need at what is a difficult time of year for many families. Christmas should be such a magical time for children and we are delighted that that our Mission Christmas campaign has captured the imaginations of the people and businesses of Northern Ireland, they always get behind us to ensure no child goes without on Christmas morning.”
