CORE – the Standard for Responsible Business – is Northern Ireland’s only corporate responsibility accreditation.
CORE strategically supports companies to develop their approach to corporate responsibility. It has been designed to help businesses that are committed to integrating corporate responsibility into the way they do business. CORE is based on Business in the Community’s Corporate Responsibility (CR) Model. This model details the main corporate responsibility issues under the themes of People, Planet and Place alongside an additional three essential requirements that businesses must consider in order to be truly responsible: Marketplace Responsibility, Stakeholder Engagement and Responsible Leadership.
The CORE framework and accreditation will enable you to map your entire corporate responsibility activity and benchmark it against other organisations, all verified by an external assessor. In addition to gaining an insight into your organisation’s CR performance, CORE will also help your business with:
- Positive profile and recognition
- Improvement and development of CR activity
- Strong evidence of good practice for procurement
- Improved staff engagement and attracting talented people
The certification process entails:
- An online submission
- An external site visit with verification interviews
Completing CORE can take anything from three – 15 months, depending on the organisation. Certification lasts for two years. It is open to all organisations, regardless of size, industry or sector. It is open to both members and non-members of Business in the Community.
First accreditation – £3,000 +VAT (valid for two years)
Reaccreditation – £3,000 + VAT (valid for three years)
