Our goal is a just transition to an environmentally sustainable Northern Ireland.
Environmental sustainability means protecting nature, reducing pollution, and using resources responsibly so future generations can thrive. We help businesses in Northern Ireland take practical steps to reduce their environmental impact through our programmes.
Business Action on Climate
Business Action on Climate is a collaborative climate campaign that puts Northern Ireland businesses at the forefront of action on the climate emergency.
The Climate Action Pledge is an integral part of the campaign that challenges and supports businesses to set and achieve ambitious GHG reduction targets, publicly demonstrating commitment to address this critical issue, as part of their race to net zero.
In aiding Northern Ireland businesses to commit to the Climate Action Pledge and take positive climate action, we provide:
- Climate Action Programme
- Climate training and advisory workshops
- Accredited Carbon Literacy Training
Environmental Benchmarking
Measuring corporate environmental management and performance through the annual NI Environmental Benchmarking Survey.
Biodiversity
Nature is declining at an alarming rate. Businesses can play an important role in protecting and restoring biodiversity. Businesses are now under increasing pressure to understand and minimise their impacts on biodiversity, and business in the community’s Biodiversity campaign has been developed to help them do this.
Generation Green Schools
A free sustainability leadership initiative for post-primary students in Northern Ireland. Schools and businesses are invited to take part and inspire the next generation of climate leaders.
